[Restaurants] Mama's @ San Francisco, CA, U.S.

During our visit to the Coit tower in San Francisco last year, we walked passed  this unique, little, but cozy restaurant with a super long queue outside. Usually a scene only seen at popular restaurants in Asia, such a long waiting line at a U.S. restaurant was a rare sight, which got JieJie extremely excited and eager to give it a try! At that very moment, all of us felt as if we were back in Asia! It goes without saying that we were clearly intrigued by this restaurant named 'Mama'. So we vowed to join the party line outside this restaurant at some point in time.
Time flies...as almost a year past before we made good of our promise. We arrived SF in good spirit, mentally prepared for the long wait in line, and physically ready for some super duper weekend brunch...
As you can see, there was already a solid line outside the restaurant by the time we arrived there, and it was only going to be longer with every passing minute. It was indeed a long wait in line, but the owner and waiters/waitresses were all very welcoming. We certainly did not feel rushed at all =D
This fabled family restaurant sits at the corner of the Washington square in the North Beach district, and it has conquered the taste buds, the stomachs and the hearts of diners alike local and beyond.

While waiting to have our orders taken and table set, we noticed this cute little ornament of plate and fork (Hi Diddle Diddle)...isn't it so family and cute?? Aww...

Famous for her French toast, egg benedict and Monte cristo sandwich, Mama makes some really yummy and motherly food. Though as vegetarians, we had to let go of the Monte cristo from our watering mouths, we were still able to testify the awesomeness of the French toast sampler, egg florentine and vegetable quiche...

Oh, and this raspberry jam made fresh daily that went really well with our French toasts too!
The space was a little crowded but definitely cozy, with the friendly staff busy buzzing around like bumble bees. Even the plates for the food were nicely warmed for optimal dining experience.
Happy WaSa Bees~
The wait from standing in line until being seated: 90 minutes; the bill to pay for our orders: $45; and the dining experience at mama? Priceless...  Definitely worth the wait.
