[Restaurants] Loving Hut @ Milpitas Square

From my friends' point of view, it is a lot harder to find your significant other after you graduate from college and work in Silicon Valley. I guess it's true in some way when you spend so much time in your cubicle and Mr. Cupid wouldn't be able to find you. Trying to eliminate one pair of singles in the valley, we used the "love" of "Loving Hut" to bring the two together on Friday night~
This is a strictly vegan restaurant. We learned this when we were unable to use their utensils to eat a non-vegan birthday cake during a previous visit.

In the restaurant, there is a TV that is constantly showing programs from Supreme Master TV channel. This is often a sign that this restaurant is either owned by Supreme Master Ching Hai or by one of her followers. Excluding the sometimes disturbing animal rights tv campaigns, the ambiance of the restaurant is clean and bright. With the table settings, this place welcomes medium/large parties.

We started the meal with a light, yet flavorful appetizer called "MuShu Roll". It is unique compare to other similar starters. Instead of the usual vermicelli and mint leaves, they used cabbage and spinach.

"Gurus Curry" This is one of our favorites and helps open up our appetite.

Just to try something new, we ordered "Rainbow". Unexpectedly, the dish is fairly large, resulting Didi calling it "Rambo". This is suppose to be a vegetarian version of Chinese braised fish. This dish is garnished with cilantro, which is Didi's favorite, as well as bamboo shoot strips, which is JieJie's favorite. :)

This is the so called "Clay Pot Sensation". We ordered it in hope of it being able to cause some "sensation" in the party. However it was slightly disappointing because many of the ingredients, even the sauce, is similar to Rainbow. Out of Rainbow and Clay Pot Sensation, we like Rainbow a lot better.

A plus about Loving Hut is that they offer brown rice! This is a very healthy alternative to over processed white rice!

For the vegetables we ordered "SzeChuan Eggplant". It was very delicious and slightly less oily than how it would be naturally prepared in other restaurants. However, if you realized most of your dishes are thick in flavor, we would recommend "Mum's Stir Fry", which is stir-fried soy protein slices with collard green.

For awesome hot and sizzlingness, we ordered "Sizzling Tofu". The texture of the tofu is delicious as well as the not overly salted vegetables that is paired with it.
